Who we are

What we collect, and only when you give it

When you fill in an enquiry or application form on this site, or on a Facebook or Instagram form that belongs to us, we collect what that form asks for: your name, date of birth, mobile number, email address, the course or country you are interested in, your last completed education and subject, your city, and anything you write in the message box. A partner organisation registering with us also gives its organisation name, country and type.

We do not ask for, and you should never send us through this website, your passport number, your National ID number, your bank or card details, or anything about your health. If a document like that is needed later in a visa application, it is handled in person at our centre, not through this site.

Our website also records ordinary technical information every website receives — the pages you open, roughly where in the world you are, your browser and device type, and the page that sent you here.

What we do with it

We use it to answer you. A counsellor calls or messages you about the course, country or visa route you asked about, and keeps notes on that conversation so you do not have to repeat yourself to a second person. We also use it in aggregate to understand which of our courses and destinations people ask about most, and to measure whether our advertising is reaching people we can actually help.

We do not use it to send you unrelated marketing you did not ask for, and we stop contacting you the moment you ask us to.

Facebook, Instagram and the Meta advertising tools on this site

This website uses the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API. These are advertising tools provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., the company that runs Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. They tell us, in aggregate, which of our advertisements led to people visiting this site and enquiring, so that we do not waste money showing advertisements to people they are not relevant to.

Practically, this means that when you open a page here, a small amount of information is shared with Meta: the page you viewed, the fact that a form was submitted, your approximate location, your device and browser, and identifiers stored in cookies that Meta uses to recognise a browser. When you submit an enquiry form, our server also sends Meta your email address and mobile number in a one-way encrypted (hashed) form so that Meta can match the enquiry to an advertisement without receiving the plain details.

We deliberately do not send Meta anything about your finances, your income, how you plan to fund your studies, or your health — even where our own form asks about it for counselling purposes. That information stays with us.

Meta processes this data under its own terms as a business partner and, for some of it, on its own behalf. You can see and change what Meta does with your information in your Facebook or Instagram settings, under Settings → Accounts Centre → Your information and permissions, and at accountscenter.facebook.com/ad_preferences. Meta's own privacy policy is at facebook.com/privacy/policy.

If you would rather none of this happened: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use your browser's private mode. The site works normally either way — nothing on it depends on advertising cookies.

Who else sees your information

Our own counsellors and administrators, and the technical provider that hosts this website on our behalf. Where you are applying to a specific institution — a Japanese language school, a university, or an employer — we share only what that application requires, and only for that application, with your knowledge.

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to other consultancies, agents or brokers. If anyone contacts you claiming to have got your details from us, tell us — that is not something we do.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for as long as they are useful to advise you — in practice a few years, because a study-abroad decision is often made over more than one intake. Records connected to a completed application may be kept longer where an institution or a government authority requires it. Ask us to delete your record and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Your choices

Write to discoverydhanmondi@gmail.com and ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop contacting you. We will act on it. There is no form to fill in and no fee.

Children

This website and our advertising are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. A person under 18 should apply with a parent or guardian involved.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will change this page and update the date at the top of it.
